Judgement
元亨利贞。
Sublime success. Furthering through perseverance.
The Image
天行健，君子以自强不息。
Heaven moves with full power. So the superior man makes himself strong and untiring.
The Lines
潜龙，勿用。
A hidden dragon. Do not act.
“潜龙，勿用”，阳在下也。
The yang force is still below.
见龙在田，利见大人。
A dragon seen in the field. It furthers one to see the great man.
“见龙在田”，德施普也。
His influence spreads far and wide.
君子终日乾乾，夕惕若，厉无咎。
The superior man is active all day and watchful at dusk. Danger, but no blame.
“终日乾乾”，反复道也。
He returns again and again to the way.
或跃在渊，无咎。
He leaps in the depths. No blame.
“或跃在渊”，进无咎也。
Advancing brings no blame.
飞龙在天，利见大人。
A flying dragon in heaven. It furthers one to see the great man.
“飞龙在天”，“大人”造也。
The great man is at work.
亢龙有悔。
An arrogant dragon has cause for regret.
“亢龙有悔”，盈不可久也。
Fullness cannot last.
见群龙无首，吉。
A flight of dragons without a head. Good fortune.
“用九”，天德不可为首也。
Heaven's power must not be headed.
Reading
六爻皆阳。象为纯阳——天、马、父、首。卦辞讲的是某种尚无法相助的起始：继续走，且不必停下来庆功。
