Judgement
利贞，亨。畜牝牛，吉。
Furthered by steadfastness; success. Rearing the cow of the feminine is auspicious.

明两作，离。大人以继明照于四方。
The light rises twice: clinging. So the superior man spreads his light to the four quarters.
The Lines
履错然，敬之，无咎。
The steps go awry; with respect, no blame.
“履错”之“敬”，以辟咎也。
The respect in steps gone awry: it avoids blame.
黄离，元吉。
Yellow clinging. Supreme good fortune.
“黄离，元吉”，得中道也。
Yellow clinging, supreme good fortune: he gains the middle way.
日昃之离，不鼓缶而歌，则大耋之嗟，凶。
The sun setting’s clinging; not beating the pot and singing, but the sigh of the very old. Ill.
“日昃之离”，何可久也！

突如其来如，焚如，死如，弃如。
Sudden as its coming: burning, dying, discarded.
“突如其来如”，无所容也。
Sudden as its coming: there is no room for it.
出涕沱若，戚嗟若，吉。
Tears flowing, grieving and sighing. Good fortune.
六五之“吉”，离王公也。
The fifth’s good fortune: it clings to king and lord.
王用出征，有嘉折首，获匪其丑，无咎。
The king uses it to march out; there is reward, the leader cut down, the rebels not taken. No blame.
“王用出征”，以正邦也。
The king uses it to march out: he sets the state right.
