元亨。
Sublime success.

火在天上，大有。君子以遏恶扬善，顺天休命。
Fire above heaven: great possession. So the superior man curbs evil and furthers good, obeying heaven’s will.
The Lines
无交害，匪咎；艰则无咎。
No exchange with harm; no blame. In hardship, no blame.
大有初九，“无交害”也。
Great possession’s first line: no exchange with harm.
大车以载，有攸往，无咎。
The great wagon is loaded; having somewhere to go, no blame.
“大车以载”，积中不败也。
The great wagon is loaded: the middle accumulates and does not fail.
公用亨于天子，小人弗克。
The prince offers to the Son of Heaven; the small man cannot.
“公用亨于天子”，小人害也。
The prince offers to the Son of Heaven: the small man is harm.
匪其彭，无咎。
Not his abundance; no blame.
“匪其彭，无咎”，明辨晢也。
Not his abundance, no blame: he discerns clearly.
厥孚交如，威如，吉。
His sincerity is exchanged like warmth, his dignity like awe. Good fortune.
“厥孚交如”，信以发志也；“威如”之吉，易而无备也。
His sincerity exchanged like warmth: trust awakens the will. The good fortune of dignity: ease without defence.
自天祐之，吉无不利。
From heaven he is blessed: good fortune, nothing unfurthered.
大有上吉，“自天祐”也。
Great possession, good fortune above: blessed from heaven.
Reading
火在天上，一时间照彻万物。大有的光盛，而卦辞全部的用心是：拥有大到这个份上，就不再是个人的。照得这么广的东西，属于它所照；好的承者是知道这点的人。
